City continued their unbeaten run in the Total Motion Football League following the late late show (not the one with James Corden).
The game was pretty even upto half time where there was little of note in terms of chances on goal.
The second half is where all the action happened and City began the half the stronger team. Possible move of the season, started by Luke English who won the ball well and pushed the ball out wide to James Baldwin, he sent the ball into the middle towards Kyonn Evans who really should have scored but lifted the ball up and over the bar.
Minutes later another brilliant move by City. Again the break came down the right hand side, this time with Tyler Weir, he breaks into the box but instead of pulling the trigger he played it across the box looking for Jordan Harrison to tap in, unfortunately Weir's pass was half a yard too far in front of Harrison and the ball ends up going out for a goal kick.
A number of subs came between the 59th and 64th minutes and moments later Quorn took the lead, which had been coming. A move that the City defence really should have stopped, the winger found space in the box and lifted into the middle for a free header for Stephen Hart who made no mistake 0 v 1.
This goal seemed to wake City up for a short period who started to press and move up a gear looking for that leveller. On 78 minutes City made their final sub with Liam Lockett leaving the field and Joel Owusu making his full City debut. It should also be mentioned that Quorn took off former player and legend, Sean Geddes who was clearly on the night their best player.
As City pressed then came a sucker punch. Darious Darkin found himself in the box following tricky footwork and let fly from 12 yards, Jezeph got a hand to it but could not keep out the powerful shot and City found themselves staring down the barrel with the unbeaten run of games looking set to end. 0 v 2
But this is Worcester City and if anyone has seen our games this season they know the never say die attitude was still there. Anyone who left early really missed a treat, our very own Vice Chairman missed the late show!.
And so...to that late show. After another decent City move from a corner kick, a cross came from the right hand side from Tyler Weir, the ball found its way onto the head of Luke English who heads home. 1 v 2 in the 91st minute
Game on, but the question now....how long would the referee add for stoppages ?
Well that answer....was another 4 minutes. And on 94 minutes City won a corner and everyone piled into the Quorn box, including keeper Dan Jezeph. The corner was put into the box by Joe Bates and sure enough there waiting to pounce once again was Luke English and City had pulled off a fantastic comeback to continue the unbeaten run.
Next up for City is Lye Town at home this Saturday 22nd. Please come and show your support for the City boys.
