City produced an outstanding Team performance to come away with all three points.
Barrow went into the match on a 14 match unbeaten run going back to 21st December which included ten wins sending them up the table towards the play offs and with City having won six from nine games it was set up to be an intriguing encounter.
Martin Devaney who joined City late in the week came into the squad whilst Ethan Moore was missing through food poisoning & City prepared for the game by travelling up on the Friday night after a donation from a City supporter.
There were few chances in a very even first half. Ebby Nelson-Addy shot wide for City and Sam Sheridan's deflected free kick was saved by Ryan Boot. Barrow finished the half strongly but City defended defiantly.
The second half saw Barrow maintaining possession for long periods but they were unable to break through City's brick wall who stuck rigidly to their game plan.
On 56 minutes City took the lead. After breaking out they forced a throw in deep in the Barrow half. Aaron Williams long throw in was headed on by Graham Hutchison and the ball deflected back to him off the shin of a Barrow defender, then with his back to goal played a short pass to Daniel Nti who fired home through the legs of a defender past the stranded Tony McMillan.
Barrow continued to keep possession but with the Team superbly organised chances for Barrow were few and far between. Barrow made three changes to force the equaliser whilst Martin Devaney came on for City to make his debut in place of Steven Leslie and Kristian Ramsey-Dickson came on for Daniel Nti.
Aaron Brown had a chance from City's first corner of the match but his header was easily collected by McMillan.
With time running out and Barrow pressing harder City broke out again and Martin Devaney sent Ramsey-Dickson clear & with the goal beckoning fired high over the bar.
City players continued to throw themselves in the way to block one of several corners from Barrow & they saw out the final tense few minutes to take a well earned three points.
