City grit their teeth at Gressley

City give a great display at Gressley
City travelled with 12 players and a sub who had played in the morning as numbers were tight this week.
The lads who played in atrocious conditions were magnificent to a man and should have come away with something.
They took the lead through Joel Owusu on 16 minutes. They then had two further chances they couldn't convert before a loose ball resulted in an equaliser on 20 minutes. They then conceded a corner which was headed home for 2.1 on 24 minutes.
City's young side continued to work and hassle and create chances in the mud whilst Dayus was superb in the City goal.
2.2 at HT.
In the second half City ran and ran at Gressley who did the same to City. It was end to end and a real battle.
How it stayed 2.1 I don't know.
Dayus then saved a penalty somehow on 86 minutes and City then missed a chance in the final minute.
The strong and physical Gressley team knew they had been in a game and City deserve great credit for their determination and overall play. It was a game of desire and ability on a difficult pitch.
2.1 at FT and lots of praise for the City lads.
