Worcester City U11's v WBA Colts

Worcester City FC today welcomed WBA Glos in the 1st round of the Cup. Both teams were known for their good passing football so we were all looking forward to a great match. The whistle was blown and WBA kicked off and as predicted started to play passing football and within 3mins Oliver O’Neill scored the opening goal without Worc City touching the ball.

On the restart Worc City got on the ball and moved the play into the WBA half and let a couple of shots off. Midway into the quarter WBA started a move from their half which ended up with an overhead kicked goal by Cawley Cox. WBA 3rd goal followed shortly by Oliver O’Neill to end the QTR Worc City 0 WBA 3. 2nd QTR started with Worc City starting brightly and Scott Wheeler scoring to make it 1v3 to WBA. Worc City continued to have the better of the game with Scott Wheeler narrowly missing from a though ball carried from defence. Nearing the end of the QTR as all good sides do, WBA’s Cawley Cox scored again to level the QTR up and make the score 1 v4.

3rd QTR and WBA really turned it on with a great display of football from all the team scoring 4 unanswered goals; the scorers were Josh Roberts, Oliver O’Neill, Cawley Cox andKobi Campbell, great football Boys. 4Th QTR and as WBA did in the 3rd Worc City did in the 4th with a well-controlled display of pressing football and scoring 2 goals, the scores were Scott Wheeler and Corbin Jarvis. So at the final whistle it was a well-deserved win to WBA that ended Worc City 3 WBA Glos 8. Worcester City would like to wish WBA all the best in their efforts to go on and win the cup.

The Worcester City Squad and coach’s will put all their best efforts in the coming weeks to recapture their pre Xmas form which knowing this group of boys I’m sure they will.
