U11's let a 2 goal lead slip away to a battling Moors team!

Report by Solihull Moors manager from the JPL website

Today Solihull welcomed Worcester to Henley for the return fixture, which Worcester previously won 4-0. Both teams went for it from the start, Moors had the first chance, the Worcester keeper pulling off a great save. Worcester put the Moors under pressure, and went 1-0 up with a goal fromCorey Smith, first quarter finishing 1-0 to Worcester. The Moors started the second quarter strong, creating several good chance, Worcester themselves had 2-3 chances too, this quarter ending 1-0 still to Worcester.

3rd quarter was the best for both teams has both teams played some great exciting football, Worcester having a pen saved by Tom Day, this put Moors on the front foot, having 3 great chances, but Worcester stood firm. Worcester came back again, a second goal for Corey Smith making it 2-0 to Worcester. Moors didn't lie down and continued to push forward, a fine team goal coming from the Moors, from back to front, Sam Smith sipping a great cross in for Callum Bennett to finish with a fine finish from the edge of the box. Moors continued to apply the pressure and were rewarded with a second through Aidan Muir who finished well past the Worcester keeper 2-2, Worcester went back up the other end, the Moors making a great save to keep it at 2-2, end of third quarter.

4th quarter seen the Moor starting to apply lots of pressure, full of confidence from their comeback, 2 good chances fell to Callum Bennett, before a great chipped goal from Kia Wilson making it 3-2, completing a brilliant Moors comeback. Final score 3-2 to the Moors, a great match between two great sides, a brilliant advert to the JPL.

WCFC Manager Darron Hobbs view was that Solihull did really well to battle back, win the game and for this reason congratulated the Moors boys who were a credit to the manager. However the WCFC boys really should of took control after gaining a 2 goal advantage and hopefully we can learn from our mistakes and have a strong end to the season!
