City completed the double over Gloucester City as they won this friendly 4-2 following victory in the JPL Cup earlier in the season.
A bright opening resulted in goals from Nathan Wood and Harry Rebbeck putting the hosts 2-0 up after the first quarter and in command.
City continued to play well and deservedly extended their lead when Wood headed his second with just a minute remaining of the second period.
The contest became a more scrappy affair in the third quarter. Gloucester managed to pull a goal back with a long range shot but it wasn’t long before the home side regained their three-goal advantage when Tom Parry calmly slotted home with his left foot.
Entering the final quarter 1-4 down, the visitors piled men forward and although they pulled one goal back, City remained relatively comfortable and held firm to claim the morale-boosting win.
