Our two U13's girls teams faced each other in Mercian League

Worcester City Youth's two Under 13 girls teams met for the first time at 11-a-side in an entertaining inter-club derby in the Mercian League.

In an excellent advert for the girls game, City Girls shaded the contest by 2-1 with Ellie Brookes and Eva Archetti-Lutz notching for the victors and Maisie Jackson replying for the Lionesses, who almost snatched a point at the death but were foiled by a brilliant double save by Mia Whitney in the 'home' goal.

Also in the Mercian League, City's Under 13 boys beat West Worcester 3-2 as Reggie Perks, Oliver Bousfield and Levi Adusei-Hillel found the net.

Two sides progressed through the first round of their respective County Cup competitions. Jamie George, Jack Hawkins, Ashton Doyle and Jake Ashford all scored hat-tricks as the Under 14s saw off Droitwich Spa Cougars, whilst the Under 15s overcame Kempsey Colts 7-1.

Jesse Asomugha was another player to hit a treble as the Under 16s won 4-3 against Herefordshire FA BDC. Fabian Hook grabbed the decisive fourth goal.

And it was honours even between the same clubs as the Under 12 Blues conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes. Tom Connor, Ollie Moore and Tom Rebbeck had earlier given their side the advantage.

The Under 12 Whites were beaten 0-9 by a very strong Coventry Sky Blues side.

Also in the Nerf Junior Premier League, the Under 18s battled gamely to the final whistle against Abingdon after having two players sent-off but eventually lost 0-4.

A similar result for City's Midland Floodlit Youth League side, who shipped three goals in the first 15 minutes versus Coventry Sphinx before competing well for the remainder of the contest.

In their second game of the week, City hit the road once again - all six of their fixtures so far have been away from home. This latest trip at Rugby Borough ended with a 1-3 loss but there were lots of positives for the visitors - all of whom bar one are still only 16-years-old, including goalscorer Reece Day, so valuable experience.

Leonardo Milan was on target for the Reserves in the Midland Football League but it could prevent a 1-4 defeat to table-toppers, Leamington, who remain unbeaten after nine games.

All of Worcester City Youth's youngest age groups were also in action.

The Under 11 boys and girls met Wilden and Catshill respectively, whilst the Under 10s played out an excellent game against Pro Pathway. The Under 9 Blues and Whites performed well in their fixtures against Wolves Girls and Birmingham City Girls and Kidderminster Harriers provided the opposition for the Under 8s.
