The Football Club bring the following update to supporters following the curtailment of the season.

Following the announcement to render the 2020/21 season ‘curtailed’ last week, the Football Club would like to provide an update to supporters.

In the interest of transparency, when consulted on the desired fate of the MFL Premier Division, the Football Club expressed that given the disruptive start to the season where some clubs played as few as six matches, the pragmatic decision should be made to conclude the season ‘null and void’. Of course, all clubs act in their own best interests which is respected, as are the decisions made by the football authorities.

Season Tickets

With regards to season tickets, all 20/21 season tickets will remain valid for the 18 league home matches of the 21/22 season at no extra cost to season ticket holders.

As a gesture of good faith, this will include those who have ascended from one season ticket group to another e.g. junior to adult.

21/22 Season

Naturally, sights now turn to preparing for the 21/22 season. Everyone connected to the club whether player or fan is no doubt itching to get back to football. Whilst there are still many unknowns, the Board will be working closely with Tim Harris and the football staff over the coming months to be fully prepared for the 21/22 season. The football club will provide updates as plans develop between now and the new season.

Thank You

Finally, the Football Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to everyone who has followed and supported City over the last 12 months. That goes to every supporter, volunteer and sponsor who has ‘kept the faith’ through such a challenging time for society as a whole.

Particular thanks must be made to everyone who supported the Football Club through the new online club shop, and those who cared for the Worcester community in the name of Worcester City FC by taking part in #StickingTogether initiative which raised over £1,100 for the Worcester FoodBank. Additionally, thanks must go to those who have worked hard to keep the club’s Gold Bond Lottery and Team Builder ticking, and those who helped provide free live streams of matches through WCFCTV.

Tentatively, light appears to be at the end of the tunnel. We cannot wait for the time to come when we can support the City together again safely. We have a lot to look forward to as we continue our new journey at home in Worcester. The hard work starts now!
