Your round-up from another busy weekend for our Youth sides

Worcester City U14 JPL 12 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers U16 Girls

The Under 14’s kept up their recent excellent league form with a 12-1 victory against a spirited WW Girls side that included the current England U16 keeper. She could do nothing to stop a thunderbolt from Ben Francis (the pick of his hattrick) with other goals from Jensen Otun (2), Liam Mubaiwa (2), Phil Matev (2), Josh Everett (2) and Dexter Martin. Report by Dave Francis

Chaddesley Ravens Youth U13’s 9 - 2 Worcester City U13 Colts

The City U13 Colts faced the current league leaders and it was easy to see why they were holding this spot by the end of the game. The City team were slow to come out of the blocks and found themselves two goals down within the first five minutes of the match. Despite this, the team rallied and brought the game level at 2-2 with two goals from Fraser Campbell midway into the half. Frasers first was assisted from a cross by Arlo Cocklin which Fraser then dinked over the Ravens keeper at close quarters in the penalty area. Frasers second came as a result of Arlo Cocklin winning a free kick centrally and just outside the D of the penalty area, Frasers resultant free kick flew just under the cross bar into the top right corner of the Ravens goal with the Ravens keeper scrambling to get his hand to it. A free kick worthy of a Match of the Day highlight reel!

The Ravens team went on to score another two goals in the first half and could have scored another 4 or 5 if it wasn’t for some great diving saves from the City keeper Tom Fletcher. The Ravens had a strong wind at their backs in the second half and the City team had to defend with their lives to keep the Ravens at bay for long periods, but they did this to great effect with some fantastic short range blocks from Harry James and some last ditched tackles from Patryk Slaba, Jenson Rimell & Joel Evans. Despite this the Ravens converted a penalty kick midway into the second half before grabbing another four goals in the last 10 minutes as the City team started to crumble under the constant pressure. All the City players put in great performances in the game but Player of the Match was awarded to Arlo Cocklin. Report by Simon Fletcher

Worcester City U10 JPL 4 - 3 Stafford Rangers Black U10’s

City showed big character to come from behind three times to defeat Stafford Rangers.

In a competitive game against a strong Pool A side, City scored through Fraser, Brandon, Sam and Alfie. Assists were provided by Leo (2) and Josh, whilst Charlie made a number of great saves to keep City in the game. Report by Richard Barratt

Worcester City U9 JPL 1 - 3 Kidderminster Harriers U9’s

The U9’s JPL lost 3-1 to Harriers on Saturday morning. It just wouldn’t happen for the boys who hit the post and bar a number of times, then conceded two late soft goals. The team also had Ruben from the U8’s JPL along and he did brilliantly playing up a year. Report by George Bull

Worcester City U11’s 7 - 1 Welland U11’s

The Under 11’s beat Welland 7-1, a frustrating first half, but played much better in the second. Report by Danny Dunne
