Back in May, we set out our Youth Pathway statement, which can be found here: https://www.worcestercityfc.org/news/wcfc-youth-pathway-2850874.html
Our pathway started when pre-season got underway back in July, and now a couple of months into the season it's time to update you on our pathway progress and what we're doing as a Club.
The youth section is a vital part of any football club. When Simon Lancaster became the Club's majority shareholder in May 2023, he identified our youth section as one of our 4 key pillars of focus. The Club has always had a good youth section but it ran separately from the main club, which we’ve recognised, and are now busy rectifying, to turn the youth section from good to great, whilst fully integrating it and implementing our ‘one club’ philosophy.

Our Youth Committee has grown since Youth Chairman Dan Sullivan was appointed, who has also joined the Club's Main Board as Director of Youth to ensure our Youth section is fully part of our ‘one club’ philosophy & plans. The Committee now has 11 members.
Last season the Club was without a reserve team. This has been rectified and we now have a team playing in the Herefordshire Premier League (Step 6), under the management of Richard Bray and his team. They often play at Claines, so get behind them.
The club established a working group solely to concentrate on our pathway for Youth players through to first-team football and everything in between. The pathway, which was set out in the summer is now in full swing, and proving to be very successful. There have been several U18 boys training and gaining minutes in the development team, whilst numerous U16 boys are doing the same with the U18s regularly. We could not have wished for a better start to our long-term plan of developing our players to be the best version of themselves and helping them reach their full potential.
The following U18 players have trained or gained minutes with our open-age development team:
Kyle Clayton
Adam Willis
Rafe Green
Tyrese Sibanda
Ashton Doyle
Jack Hawkins
Zac Watkins
Finlay Holiday
The following U16 players have trained or gained minutes with our U18 team:
Tate Wood
Josh Tally
Auryn MacDonaly
Lennon Payne
We encourage City fans to keep an eye on these names and the teams we have coming through our Youth system. Check out the teams’ fixtures and have a watch. There is a swell of fantastic, young, talented, local footballers who play for our club. The players, coaches, board, and club would love your support.,
We have teams of all ages and genders, spanning from U7 through to U21/reserves. Recently, we released our exciting update regarding Girls football at City. Find it in full here: https://www.worcestercityfc.org/news/youth-girls-pathway-statement-2885400.html
Youth Chairman, Dan Sullivan would also like to sincerely thank all members of the Youth Committee, who, like him, are volunteers, giving up their spare time to take our Youth section from good to great. Their hard work and dedication is amazing. To the Youth coaches (again volunteers), a massive thank you for all you do... The sessions, coaching, development, and enjoyment you bring to our Young superstars. To our parents, guardians, and friends of players, thank you for the help & support you give each coach, helping to set up, organising fundraising, team bonding events and representing City at every match you watch.
We have many plans to keep expanding our Youth section at City, with more to be announced in the coming months. It's an exciting time for Worcester City Football Club.
Keep The Faith.
