Today Worcester made the trip for a friendly game against a Birmingham City side that was unbeaten so far this season. Worcester were without three of their usual players which gave an opportunity for others to shine. It was a cold and wet morning and the game was played on the homesides artificial pitch.
Q1 - Worcester enjoyed most of the play in the first quarter and played some great football through the thirds and were unfortunate to only score one goal. The goal came after good wing play from Tristan Webby who found Joe Palmer, Joe neatly finished into the corner of the net. A well taken goal. 0-1
Q2 - Worcester continued to press forward in search of more goals although Blues got an equaliser on the counter attack straight from a Worcester corner. This only proved to spur Worcester on and they re-took the lead following a Tristan Webby freekick which found its way to Tom Griffin via Joe Palmer and Tom finished from close range. Almost on the stroke of half time Worcester added a third when an Olly Berry cross was slammed home by Tom Mills. 1-3
Q3 - This was probably Blues strongest quarter and they battled hard to get back into the game. Despite having more of the play they were unable to reduce the deficit.
Q4 - Worcester dominated the final quarter and probably should have added more than one further goal which came from a Tom Mills penalty after Tom Griffin was fouled in the area. 1-4
This was a good game between two strong teams.
