U8s tame the Tigers

An early morning kick off saw Oldbury make a fantastic start, scoring twice within the opening 5 minutes, but the City boys showed great belief and mental strength to keep going and replied straight away as Ethan latched on to Marcels ball to wiggle into the box and calmly slot past the keeper, Marcel then unleashed a fantastic effort to get the crowd jumping up and down before recycling the ball back to Alf to thump another one past the keeper to send the boys into the break in good spirits.

Within minutes of the restart, Jakub was off celebrating after poking a loose ball into the net to grab his second goal of the season. Jakub then switched the ball across the box for Marcel to chip over the keeper, before setting Alf up to flick another effort over the goalie in a fast furious start to the half.

Some great football from the boys, with one confused parent actually asking if the City boys were semi pro!! The boys were not finished yet though, Zayne got off the mark to fire Alfs ball into the net, before passing a fantastic effort into the top corner from another Jakub pass, then Alf cut in to score, before Zayne completed his hattrick to end a great half of football.

In the final third, Logan got the boys going again with a super composed effort as the boys again started fast, Alfs run ended with a free-kick that Logan chipped beautifully over the wall and into the roof of the net before Jakub pounced in the box to score his 2nd of the game to end a great morning of football.

All the boys were fantastic today with Logan deservedly taking the man of the match trophy home for another calm and smooth performance. Logan only joined the team in the summer, but has fitted in so well and really brought a calmness a vocal approach from the backline and again today, he didn't put a foot out of place.
