Analysis
The City team faced another one of the leagues stronger teams in this fixture, having won the league cup final the weekend before. The City team had to battle hard right from the whistle but fell to the oppositions first goal 6 minutes in, following a couple of attempted shots, with the rebounds falling luckily to the Starz Academy team who finally netted at the third attempt. The Starz team got another goal before half-time but the City players weren’t being outplayed at this point and however unlikely, they were still in with a shout of a comeback in the second half. However, City were quickly under the cosh again in the second half and appeared to be spending long periods of the game within their own half of the pitch. Chances to score were few and far between with the closest falling to Arlo Cocklin who’s shot from the edge of the Starz teams penalty area going inches wide of the post with the opposition goal keeper being too far away to stop it if it had been on target. The City team became overwhelmed by the Starz teams attack in the second half despite some great defending from the whole team but specifically co-captain Jenson Rimell and they managed to score another six goals before the final whistle.

All the City players put in great performances in the game but the player-of-the-match was awarded to Jenson Rimell.

Thanks to all the Worcester City parents for their support on match day.
